1. Page Titles

Instead of using the standard:

2. Body Classes

To gain more control over the styling of your pages, you can set it up so that the title of each post is applied as a class to the body element.

You can take this even further by adding classes for the type of page (ie. 404, search, archive etc.), the operating system and browser that the visitor is using.

3. Dynamic Copyright

To make it so the year is automatically updated for you, just add:

Creating a WordPress Sideblog

Sideblogs are great for displaying small news item in the sidebar and they are very easy to implement.

First open your themes sidebar.php file, then find where you want to add the sideblog and paste the following code.

 $sideblog = new WP_Query(); $sideblog->query( 'category_name=Sideblog&showposts=10' ); ?>
 
 while ($sideblog->have_posts()) : $sideblog->the_post(); ?>
	 the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to  the_title_attribute(); ?>"> the_title(); ?>
 endwhile; ?>

This tells WordPress to display the title of the 10 most recent posts in the Sideblog category.

To make it easier to style the sideblog posts you should put them in a list. You also might want to add a short description with the “excerpt” tag.
